**In the time of COVID-19, I am recommending that all prenatal & postpartum visits be done remotely for the time being. Labor & birth support will still be done in-person as long as your hospital is still allowing doulas! If your hospital is not allowing doulas, I have new virtual support package available, detailed below.
As your birth doula, I will help you and your partner feel prepared & confident going into your birth by answering questions, helping you define your birth preferences, teaching your support people techniques for how to best support you, and providing referrals to experts in the community as needed. During our complementary 30-minute consultation, we will review the list of available services & determine which package is right for you. Also, since I am a DONA-certified doula, if you have GHC insurance you may be eligible to receive a $100 reimbursement for doula services (see here for more info).

During prenatal visits, we will work together to understand your goals and priorities for labor & postpartum care. These visits may include creating a birth plan, practicing breathing techniques & meditation & laboring positions, education on breastfeeding techniques & resources, and any other topics of interest to you. If you have a partner or support person, I will work them to define goals for involvement during the birth & answer questions.
Continuous Labor Support
I will be on-call 24/7 from 2 weeks before to 2 weeks after your Estimated Due Date. You can call me at any point, and I will join you in your home or at the hospital. I will provide comfort measures during labor & help you create a peaceful labor environment based on your needs. That may mean setting up the diffuser with your favorite essential oils, a comforting massage, suggesting labor positions to encourage progress, reminding you to drink water, taking pictures to capture precious moments, or reminding you over & over how strong & amazing you are. I can also help support other members of your birth team by providing suggestions for how they can best support you, offering emotional support, or simply taking over for a while so they can take a quick nap. I will remain with you throughout the labor & delivery, providing emotional support, physical support, and advocacy. I will stay at least 1-2 hours postpartum until you & your baby are settled and comfortable.
Each birth package includes postpartum support. I will visit you in your home in the first week after delivery to recap the birth story and answer questions about feeding, sleeping, and infant care. The remaining postpartum support hours can be in whatever way best suits you. In those first weeks & months at home, it can be hard to find time to keep up with everyday chores & self-care routines as you are learning how to care for your little one & shift into the role of a parent. I can provide an extra set of hands to hold the baby for a while so you can get some rest, answer basic breastfeeding questions and assure you that you're doing a great job, do all the laundry that's been piling up, go on late-night diaper runs, entertain other children, cook clean, walk the dogs, etc. I will be a friendly, calm, & supportive friend to help gently ease your transition into parenthood.
With any birth package, enjoy access to my Lending Library! You can borrow each book for up to 6 weeks, and can borrow up to 2 books at a time. I keep the following books on-hand:
